If you’re thinking about remodeling your kitchen, designing a new kitchen, or just need to replace your kitchen sink faucet, you’ll most likely be amazed at the variety of kitchen faucets that are out there! Take a walk down the kitchen faucet aisle of any hardware store and you’ll soon see just how many options there are. Brushed chrome, stainless steel, and copper are just a few of the amazing choices that are out there. But it’s important to not get swayed by the pretty, sparkling fixtures and that you take note of some of the more important features that come with kitchen sink faucets.

Valves are one of the most important features of any kitchen sink faucet and any faucet you look at will undoubtedly contain a valve of some sort. The thing that’s most important to know about valves is how quickly they change the temperature of the water. This is especially true with single-tap faucets, which are the most common faucets sold today. A good valve will have a gradual change in temperature as it switches from hot to cold. If the temperature changes too quickly from hot to cold, it’s a good indication that the valve is not of good quality and will break down easily. As well, this could also be a safety issue if a person should try to change water temperature too quickly.

Some kitchen sink faucets have additional features that also have to do with water temperature. There are two features that can be found in kitchen sink faucets but they work very similarly. One is a scald-free feature and the other is a temperature-limit control. These controls can be accessed by simply removing the handle of the faucet and adjusting the control. These features are not only nice bonuses that come with certain types of faucets, but they are also good safety features as they can stop children from getting burned by water that is too hot.

Water control is another important feature when buying a kitchen sink faucet. In the United States, it is now law that no kitchen sink faucet is to deliver more than 2.5 gallons of water every minute. Not only is this better for the environment as it helps with water conservation, but it will also save you a great amount of money on your water bill. And if you want to decrease your water flow even more, some faucets come with an additional adjustable flow rate controls. This will allow you to control the amount of water coming out of the faucet even more so.

The warranty on any kitchen sink faucet is probably the last thing you will consider but it’s also a very important one. A good warranty on any kitchen sink faucet will last for the lifetime of the kitchen sink faucet. This way, you only have to worry about buying that faucet once!
